Cremalat Cheese started with a humble beginning in 1993 from Claudio and Margaret Giustizieri, both of Italian origin that shared a love for Italian food.
This story started at the Michael Mount Organic Market in Bryanston, with a small cheese stall. Through word of mouth, the business slowly grew around the Italian community in Johannesburg and Pretoria. Day-by-day, the demand of Italian products grew so Claudio and Margaret decided to expand their lines by importing other Italian products such as cold meats, coffee, pasta, tomatoes, water, wine, olive oil and more.
Eventually a new venue was bought in 1996, in Kensington. The new venue became a point of reference for the variety of cheeses and Italian products that were distributed throughout Johannesburg and Pretoria, a well-equipped delicatessen was added to the business. Read more

The products are imported form various regions in Italy including: wines from Friuli Venezia Giulia, Prossecco form Valdobbiadine, Prosciutto Crudo from Parma, Parmigiano-Reggiano, Limoncello, Panettone, Olive oil, Pasta, Biscotti, Cioccolato, Torrone, Colomba Psquale and more form vairous regions of Italy
Our deli is well know for the great selection of freshly sliced cold meats and a wide selection of 80 different gourmet cheeses ikported as well as loccaly produced. Two of our cheeses are award winning namely, the famous Cremalat Gorgonzola & the Drunken Pecorino. Our products can be found in both our Johannesburg and Pretoria delis.
On the 19 of September 2018 after a huge renovation the Deli has been upgraded, giving to our clients an even greater space to shop at their lesisure. La Panetteria (the bakery) has been introduced to offer a wide selection of homemade breads that compliments the range of Cremalat deli products. Fresh ciabatta, sourdough bread, focaccia, panzerotti and many more can be found freshly baked, every day.

Cremalat Cheese additionally has an Authentic, in house Italian Restaurant
In 2010 La Cucina @ Creamalat opened it’s door due to the requests form the Deli’s clientele to test the products on sale. In 2016 they expanded the restaurant with an open kitchen and doubled their capacity.
La Cucina @ Cremalat offers a wide range of Pasta, Panini, Cheese board with cold meats, salads and light meals.
All the products in use are fresh and of high quality to guarantee an authentic Italian meal and the menu is seasonal and changes according to the fresh ingredients available.
Margaret Giustizieri is the head of the kitchen @ Cremalat and with her passion and dedication to authentic Italian food brings out the best.
